Business Card Maker

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026

This policy explains what Business Card Maker (“the app”, “we”) does with your information. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version. Business Card Maker has no account, no server and no analytics. Everything you scan, type or design stays on your device. We do not collect, receive, see or sell your data.

1. Information we collect

We collect nothing. The app does not transmit your content to us or to anyone else. There is no sign-up, no login, and no user profile held by us.

The app does not include analytics, advertising, attribution or tracking software of any kind, and it does not track you across other apps or websites.

2. Information the app stores on your device

To do its job, the app stores the following locally on your device:

WhatWhy
Photos of cards you scan, and the text read from them So a scanned card can be viewed, corrected and searched later
Contact details extracted from a scan To show the card, save it to Contacts, and export it if you ask
Your own profile: name, title, company, phone, email, website, address and logo To fill in card templates automatically
Cards you design, and pictures you add to them So your designs can be edited and exported
Notes, tags, follow-up dates, and where you met someone To organise your cards and remind you
Preferences and a monthly count of scans To remember your settings and apply free-plan limits

This information is held in the app's own storage on your device. If you have device backups enabled, Apple may include it in your encrypted iCloud or computer backup, under Apple's terms rather than ours. If you turn on iCloud sync, see section 3 below.

3. iCloud sync

Business Card Maker can sync your cards, designs and profile between your own devices using iCloud. This is optional, off unless you turn it on, and available to Business Card Maker Pro subscribers.

When it is on, that data is stored in your private iCloud database — storage that belongs to your Apple Account, not to us. We cannot read it, and it is not shared with us or anyone else. Apple's Privacy Policy and iCloud terms govern that storage.

With sync off, everything stays on the single device. Turning sync off later does not delete what is already in iCloud; you can remove that in the iOS Settings app under your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage.

4. Permissions the app asks for

Each permission is requested only when you first use the feature that needs it, and the app keeps working without it.

PermissionUsed for
CameraPhotographing a business card. Images are processed on device and never streamed anywhere.
Photo library (read)Importing a card image or your logo, only for the item you pick.
Photo library (add)Saving an exported card or QR image, if you choose to.
ContactsSaving a scanned card to your address book, and checking for a duplicate first. The app writes the card you asked it to save.
Location (while in use)Optional. Records where you met someone at the moment you save a scan. Off is available in Settings › Record where we met; the place name is stored on your device only.
NotificationsFollow-up reminders you schedule yourself.

5. Text recognition

Reading text from a card uses Apple's on-device Vision framework. The image does not leave your device for this, and no third-party recognition service is used.

6. Purchases

Business Card Maker Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the App Store. Apple processes the payment. We never see or receive your name, payment card, billing address or Apple Account details. The app asks the App Store only whether a subscription is currently active.

7. Sharing with third parties

We do not share your information, because we do not have it. The app contains no third-party SDKs.

When you choose to share or export a card, iOS hands the file to the destination you pick — Mail, Messages, Files, AirDrop, a printer. What happens then is governed by that service, not by us.

8. Retention and deletion

Your content stays on your device until you remove it. Delete an individual card in the app, or delete the app to remove everything it stored. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf and no request you need to send us.

9. Children

Business Card Maker is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children — and as set out above, we do not collect information from anyone.

10. Your rights

Laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete personal data held about you. Since we hold none, these rights are satisfied directly on your device: your data is already in your possession, editable in the app, exportable as vCard or CSV, and deletable at any time. We do not sell or share personal information.

11. Security

Your content is protected by your device's own security: the passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and iOS file protection. Keeping your device updated and locked is the most effective protection for it.

12. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated date. Material changes will also be described in the app's release notes.
